How to Use:

Kishu Charcoal To Go is ready to use upon opening. Simply place in a 12-16 ounce water-bottle and add tap water. Charcoal begins working immediately, achieving optimal filtration in just 1 to 2 hours. (In general, more water requires more charcoal & more time for filtration.) When possible, begin filtration in the evening for use the following day.

Charcoal should be boiled every 4 weeks to keep its pores open & receptive. Simply submerge stick in a pot of shallow water and boil gently for 5 minutes. Remove from water and allow to dry for 20 to 30 minutes before reusing as normal. (Detailed instructions and handy boiling schedule are included.)

Replace after four months of use. Put retired charcoal stick in your fridge or closet to absorb odors, or crush and add to your garden or potted plants as a soil conditioner.

Care & Safety Notes:

Flaking of the charcoal stick is normal and perfectly safe to drink.

Kishu charcoal doesn’t remove fluoride and is not recommended to filter creek water as it DOES NOT kill pathogens. For use with tap water only.
