Energetically speaking, it is the feminine that carries the vision of synthesis and the masculine that will build it. — Richard Rudd, The 37th Gene Key, Family Alchemy
Paradoxically, once a mother has accepted the call to a sensuously feminine motherhood, her first step on the journey is to embrace her mature masculine energy.
Masculine energy is solar, yang, left-brained energy. It’s linear, literal, logical, analytical and detail oriented. It’s the energy of precision and mastery — the energy used by an architect to engineer a building with the structural integrity to withstand the blows of hurricanes and earthquakes. And it’s the energy a mother must access within herself to design and build the structures of her personal life — structures with the ability to withstand the metaphorical storms that are bound to come her way — carefully-crafted structures to house her inner feminine bliss.
Whether consciously or unconsciously, she’s been drawing on her masculine left-brain faculties to structure her life since childhood — meticulously constructing parameters in which to experience reality and make sense of life. Inevitably she’s made many major and minor renovations along the way, and occasionally performed total demolitions and rebuilds from time-to-time. (Long gone is the reality where she genuinely believed a jolly, bearded man in a red suit came down her chimney to bring her gifts.)
As an adult she’s apt to realize that the structures she constructed in childhood no longer meet her needs as a mother. Her visions and desires have grown as she’s grown. Now she wants to build her dream home — complete with a state-of-the-art kitchen, a luxurious bathroom, and a wraparound porch.
But designing and building her metaphorical dream home requires skills and know-how, education and application, knowledge and integration, resources and tools. . . . So many tools!
From heavy-duty power tools to intricate precision tools, the masculine energy within her needs an extensive array of both simple and sophisticated tools to work with. And equally importantly, needs to know how and when to use each of them appropriately to achieve the desired and intended outcome.
In terms of her personal life this process looks like: honing the skills of physical, psychological and social self-reliance, relinquishing attachment to her adolescent identity, addressing developmental deficits from her childhood, giving up addictions, exploring her sacred wound, learning to choose authenticity over social acceptance, making peace with the past, learning the art of disidentification through the practice of meditation, and exploring the mysteries of nature and psyche.
Heavy lifting to be sure, but her masculine abilities are absolutely up to the challenge. Her masculine energy has just been waiting for such an opportunity to prove itself capable, competent and confident. Once the masculine knows what’s required, it’s steady and focused, poised and patient, determined and dedicated, meticulous and driven — all for the love of the feminine. For once the work is done and the dream home is built, the feminine is finally free to flow — free to express itself fully, free to fill the home with beauty and joy, song and dance, depth and passion, tenderness and empathy. Then the masculine is richly rewarded for all the preparation and hard work.
This is the generalized blueprint of future society — it will be a world in which the masculine principle serves the feminine principle. — Richard Rudd, The 37th Gene Key, Family Alchemy
Once the mother has done the hard work and heavy lifting of developing the masculine within herself, she weathers the metaphorical earthquakes and hurricanes of life with ease and grace. She has successfully crafted the gorgeous container needed to flow into her feminine energy and a sensuous motherhood is within her reach.
